KYOTO
Japan's most popular tourist destination. Kyoto is only 2 hours and 40 minutes by the Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo. Kansai Airport and Itami Airport are the gateway to Kyoto (as well as to Osaka). Kyoto was Japan's capital from the 8th through the 19th centuries. World famous gardens, shrines and temples are located in this city.
NARA
Japan's oldest capital prospered in the 8th century. Most tourists visit Nara in a half-day or full-day excursion from Kyoto. If you would like to explore rich historic and cultural legacies of the city, overnight stay is strongly recommended. Nara is only one hour train ride from Kyoto.
OSAKA
Japan's second most important industrial and commercial city. Osakajo Castle and Universal Studio are two most popular attractions.
